Anna and Gilles' bakery is located on this corner on rue Legendre,
in the 17th arrondissement of Paris

The kitchen is tiny but efficient - note the front loading washing machine under the
cooktop.

The Louvre.
This is the garden where the impressionist painter Claude Monet created
most of his later paintings. It is in Normandy, a one hour drive from Paris.

He is 16 and apprenticing as a patissier - a pastry chef.
He's into video games, soccer and ping pong.
The famous artists' quarter is a ten minute walk from the apartment.
Picasso had his first atelier here, as did many other renowned artists.
There is a small local vinyard and this garden.

Hector Guimard was one of the best known Art Nouvau
architects. This is a house at 60 rue de la Fontaine
It was built in 1911.

Le Corbusier was a celebrated modernist architect.
Versailles.
Built by rich, decadent kings. A bit over the top.
Marché aux Puces - gigantic flea market with hundreds and
hundreds of antique stores.
Half of the Parisians are walking around with a
baguette in their hand.
This is the most famous bakery in the world.
They don't do baguettes. Only authentic sourdough (lévain)
pain de campagne (country bread), baked in wood fired
brick ovens. It tastes almost as good as Anna's bread and
Leila's bread

The wood fired oven. Most of the bread now is baked in a larger
facility that has12 new wood fired ovens in a large circle. The bread is
available in many supermarkets.
