Note : Masonry Heaters are governed by the same regulations as Site Built Fireplaces.

Sides and Rear
From all combustables		   4 Inches
Top of heater to ceiling. 8 Inches
Non Combustable flooring in front of fire box 18 Inches
Foundation of heater from structural members in the floor 2 Inches
Chimney from combustable structural framing members 2 Inches

Note:

1. Non combustable flooring, is what it says and cannot be substituted by ceramic tiling over a combustable floor.

2. Chimney needs 2 inches clearance from combustable structural members. Combustable finishing materials may touch the chimney.
