The quarries of Mont d'Or
Previous site of quarry in the Massif de Mont d'Or.
These tunnels were constructed and then over filled with waste from the quarring process. This allowed subsequently quarried stone to be moved through the tunnels with relative ease, rather than being hauled over large piles of waste.
